The Division of Biological Sciences is housed within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. The Division consists of the Departments of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Plant Biology, Cellular Biology, Entomology, Genetics, Marine Sciences, Microbiology and the Institute of Ecology. Each department has its own major and degree programs. Due to the tight integration and relatedness of biological disciplines, the Division was created to conduct a degree program in Biology with the participation of the individual departments and faculty. The Chairman of the Division of Biological Sciences is Professor Daniel V. DerVartanian. The Associate Chairman and Director of Undergraduate Degree Programs is Professor William E. Barstow.
